What's what

Lots of photos in this post- just warning you! Went to Royal Easter Show on Sunday and bought this: What is it you ask?

It's a handbag!!! Made all out of a huge zip!!

How cool is that??

Anyway, had loads of fun at the show. Bought an angel like Jonathon's, but a little bigger.Have to admit I was rather disappointed in the rides- not really very many there!

Here we are sitting on the floor of the train on the way home.

Wasn't for very long though. Just to Hornsby.

Pretty sunset taken out the window of the train:

The boy graduated on Tuesday. Am very proud of him. Had a wonderful day. Will let him tell you all about it though. Had a wonderful lunch at a Japanese restaurant. Only got slightly lost on the way home- didn't mean to get on the M2!

Anyway, some speccy graduation photos:

Anyway, am very tired little Vegemite, so I am going to bed. Goodnight!

New Stuff

Haven't been up to much lately, just working, been getting lots of shifts, so I'm really happy about it. Have got my roster for next term and have got more shifts than last term so that will be good. I will have a huge day on Tuesdays, with 5.25 hrs of Gymskools, then backing up at the gym for 3 hrs of afternoon classes. It will be tough, but I really didn't want to give up my Tuesday afternoon classes.

Will be heading down to the Royal Easter Show on Sunday (I think), so that should be good.

Have new photos from pole class. The first one is the double venus I did with my teacher.

And this one is the split leg butterfly.

This is different to the usual butterfly coz I don't have my ankle hooked onto the pole.

Anyway, that's it from me for now. Love you all!

Greetings from the Southern Highlands

Well it is rather cold down here, and I am loving it. I think some people usually prefer cold or warm weather, but I like both, for different reasons. In the summer, you can feel the warm sun on your face, get to go to the beach, and you have great weather all around for outside stuff. But in the winter, it seems to be more contemplative. It's great weather for reading, cups of tea, and crocheting, three of my favourite things. You get to snuggle under squishy doonas (well you do if you're in the Southern Highlands for the weekend- note the recurring personal obsession!).

Today Jonathon and I took a trip into Bowral. I love Bowral. It has that old town kinda charm. We had some great coffee, and then went and had a look at a store down here that sells Pandora jewellery. Clicky here. Pandora jewellery is basically a new way of doing charm bracelets, and they are absolutely gogeous. Anyway, Jono had been wanting to get me one for a birthday or Christmas present but we weren't sure what size bracelet I'd need (I have very tiny wrists!). So we went in for me to have a look and to try on a bracelet for size. Anyway, the lady at the shop found a bracelet that would be about my size and told me to just pick out a few charms to put on it so I could see how it would fit. Jonathon chose a charm from the few I had picked, and bought it for me right there and then, along with the bracelet. It's absolutely beautiful, so I'll have to show it off next time I'm around. And now he can buy me charms for Christmas and birthday and stuff. I think I forgot to mention the charm I got- it's a fish- we can't decide if it's a gold fish or a koi (carp), but either way, it doesn't really matter. I called the fish "Sakana", which is Japanese for "fish". Very original.

Pole class last night was good. We've been tinkering with our routine a bit coz we learnt a new move last night, called the "cresent moon". I should have taken a photo but I didn't bother coz I only had a 16MB memory card, which actually could have fit quite a few photos, but I was just being lazy

So that is what I have been up to for the past 2 days or so. Am very much enjoying my time down here, as always.

On my mind

  • Pole dancing tonight, but no video as my brother has borrowed my 1GB memory card. So unless you want a 6 second video...
  • Said brother is in Korea at the moment, hence why my lack of memory card. Wonder what he's up to. Hope he doesn't get shot. (He's going to the demilitarised zone)
  • Will shortly be storming
  • Going to the boy's place for easter
  • Wondering how to help a friend in need. Am one of those people who feel the need to fix things, even things that are none of my business. Especially if it's friend who is hurting
  • Am trying to make up a new music CD to play at gym, but a lot of the music I have at the moment is the explicit version. So I need to go looking for the clean version
  • I have "frogger" on my dashboard. But I still suck at it coz the last time I played Frogger was with a joystick
  • Am learning how to play checkers
  • My diet needs an overhaul
  • Wondering why every time I press the "shift" key the Garfield comic ticks over
  • Dirty Dancing is one of my all time fave movies. Along with a lot of other dance movies
  • My favourite dance is the jive
  • My download speeds are still really slow. Broadband my butt!

The weekend

The weekend is almost over. What have I been up to? Stuff that makes me very sore! We had a party at my place last night for our exchange student's birthday. And as soon as I had a few drinks I had to get on the pole and be a show off. So today I am very sore. I have 2 very impressive bruises; one on my arm, and another on my leg. I also have a rather sore arm. That'll teach me to try pole dancing without warming up! I was one of the more sober people last night, so I spent a lot of my time checking on the others. (I didn't mind- no way was I going to get that drunk anyway!). My host brother was in a pretty bad state, along with a few others, but there was minimal mess to clean up this morning, so that was good. So all in all, a good night was had by all.

Anyway, as promised, here is my latest video, which is a bit of a shocker, but you already knew that. I'll do another video when we get the routine sorted, but in the meantime, comment and snorff to your heart's content.

Clicky here.

Love you all

Quiet in Blogland

Well this makes a bit of a change. Usually I'm one of the slackers who doesn't blog and stuff. So everyone is either really busy having a life and doing fun things, or things are boring as usual.

I have a cheerleading meeting today. We have to hand in notes so we're all going to go over them together (which is perfectly legal!) just to make sure we've covered everything and that we have the right answers.

Managed to get my computer glitch sorted out. So I am in the process of uploading the video to Photobucket, and it will be available for you to laugh at in no time. I'm serious, the routine isn't even finished yet, and it wasn't a very good run through, but I just wanted to see how it looked. Oh well, comment and snorff to your heart's content.

Thursday, March 29, 2007

Uh oh!

Am having a minor glitch with my pretty new Macbook. It won't let me upload the video I took to the computer. But I have emailed my Apple tech support (ie, best friend Nay), so hopefully we can sort this out. Probably just need to get an add-on or something. Hopefully. Am now getting rather paranoid about my camera not being compatible with my computer!! But I'm sure it's nothing. I'll get it sorted out. Anyway, that's all from me. Had double pole class so I'm pretty tired. Was going to show you all the video I took of our (half finished) routine, but my computer had other plans! Oh well, you'll see it eventually.
Love you all!

No posts for 3 days!

Mostly because I haven't done anything interesting! Just work, as usual. I got my advanced tramp girls trying back somersaults last night, and they're all doing really well. It would be better if the pit tramp was usable, but you have to work with what you've got I guess. Anyway, seeing as there is nothing to report, here is a little pictorial journey for you:

Firstly, my art masterpieces from Sunday:

And some more Dollz

Dollz

This has been a pastime on and off for a while now, so I thought I might share some with you.

Here are 2 randoms:

My pole dancing Dollz:

And for Mary Goth, a whole heap of goth Dollz (if you want copies, email me!)

And I can do more! If you would like me to make a Dollz for you, just ask (and tell me what kind eg mermaid, fairy, princess, or I can just make one) just let me know. You can also get the html code to put it in your sidebar.

About Today

  • I have decided I like making lists for blog posts. (This revelation didn't come to me today, been with me for a while, just thought I'd share)
  • What's with my download speeds? Seriously, 2kb/s??? Where's the 10 or 14kb/s??
  • DON'T FORGET TO TURN YOUR CLOCKS BACK!!!!
  • The gym gets very hot. The exact equation is:

T=t x 6/l
where
T= temperature inside the gym

t= temperature outside gym

l= amount of liquid consumed

  • You can actually get sick of drinking water
  • Your "crystal cave" can also be called your "Mary" (learnt this one at pole dancing the other night. And you girls think dancing is all I learn!- Along with how to walk in really high heels)
  • Have ordered 2 pairs of pole shoes. 1 pair sandals, 1 pair boots, both black. See:

  • It's time for a remedial massage
  • It's raining outside, and I love it
  • Going to Mary Ankle's art thingo tomorrow
  • Need to pick up a plate (with food on it) to share
  • Am thinking of all those who need healing and love sent their way
  • Am halfway through 2 books.
  • Worried about my caffeine dependency!
  • Am officially in charge of next fluffy bunny ritual (and need to get my fluffy bunny thinking cap on)
  • Wondering how many pairs of boots is too many (Mary Goth, you stay out of this one!!)
  • Loving tutoring in Japanese
  • Wore my new blue irt (well, there really isn't enough material to justify calling it a skirt!) out dancing last night. Positive I flashed half the club
  • Did not end up needing to pin said irt to knickers
  • Got kicked out of a club (well got asked to leave coz underaged kids not allowed in clubs after 9pm even with a legal guardian)

More fun with the Mac

Well it took a while, but I finally got around to doing some more silly photos. This time of the cat. I'd have loved to have done the dogs as well, but it's really a 2 person job and mum has gone to work.

The first few didn't work so good, but I'll put them in anyway coz they're funny. So here they are:

Hee hee, I think the last 2 are the best!
Anyway, enjoy!

More photos

Yes, I have another photo. Just one this time. I really should stop doing this. I've set a bit of a benchmark with this- new photos each week! Anyway, this one is called the "superman".

Mabon & Other Assorted Assorteds

Mabon ritual was last night, (most of you probly knew that!) I forgot to take my chalice with me when I left for work, but thought to myself that I could borrow one when I got there. Only I forgot to do that too, but didn't realise it until I needed it! (Isn't that always the way though?) But Jacqui was kind enough to share, so it was all good.

Got loads of compliments on my outfit (even though I think most of you had seen it before! Nevermind, i'm not the kind to turn down compliments!). If you're interested, here is the website for the company who sells them. (I got mine from their stall at the Mind Body Spirit festival). They are Chrysalis Clothing. And I have the Venus skirt in Sunrise, and the Angel sleeve butterfly tie top in Sunset. But they are pretty expensive ($112 for the Venus skirt). But they are just so pretty I had to have one! And one of the main reasons I'd gone to the MBS festival was to get one of these skirts.

Am trying a herbal detoxifying tea. Thought it might give me the benefit of a detox without the need to a detox diet, because if I did that I'd waste away I think! But the poor herbal tea needs to compete with all the sugar and caffeine in my system. oh well, at the very least it will make me feel good for trying!

I had a quick squiz on Ebay (ok, maybe more than a quick squiz), for those LED candles like I had last night. And there are some available. So just search "LED candle". Also, this one here has a set of 4 for sale.

Anyways, that's about it from me. I have pole dancing on tonight, so more photos may be on the way! Love you all!

Pearls of Wisdom

I got a card set for Christmas which are "words of wisdom" from the Dalai Lama, so I thought I'd create a regular post to share them with you.

Today's card says:

I feel the different religious traditions have a great responsibility to provide peace of mind and a sense of brotherhood and sisterhood among humanity.

Much Musing

Well I have just finished a book I have been waiting ages for. I had a look on the author's website, and it said the release date was March 2007. I had no idea it had been out since the beginning of March! Was not impressed! Plus was rather alarmed to think that it had been that long since I had been in a bookshop! Anyway, now that I've finished, I'm having a bit of a problem. Well, 2 actually. Number 1 is that the book has really made think. Not that that's a problem, but you know how some books really get to you? And this one had a twist that I didn't really see coming, so that threw me a little. And problem number 2 is that now I have nothing else to read. I've recently gotten very picky about the books I read, so since I'm not really interested in most of the books that are out there at the moment, I've taken to re-reading a lot of my books. And there are a few more books I'm waiting on, but they won't be out for a while yet, which takes me back to the problem of having nothing to read except for books I'm almost getting sick of because I've read them too many times! Wow, this turned into quite a whinge didn't it!

Anyway, just for the fun of it, here are some of my favourite books.

(there are more by this author, but I'll leave it here for now!)

(that's also the tattoo I ant to get)

And I'll take pity on you all, and just put the first book of the series.

Anyway, I think I've had enough musing for tonight. Love you all!

Introducing Mr Donuts

Seeing as I have made a huge deal of Mr Donuts today, I thought I would give you a little info!

If you would like to have a look at the ads, clicky here. It's not all of them, but I think they're the best ones! As the site is in Japanese, I'll give you a bit of a run-down on how to access them. Obviously the 2 bars on each ad relate to whether you want to open the ad in real player or windows media player. The link on the left of each colour is for broadband, the right for dial up.

So go and have a look. If you have any probs let me know.

Clicky here for a look at the menu!!

These ones are my faves.

The Macbook has landed!

Much to tell, the best being guess who is typing this post on her very own Macbook!

Isn't it speccy! So I will now be able to load my photos directly from my own photo library without having to load them onto my computer, then onto my flashdrive, then onto the downstairs computer, then onto my blog. Wow, that sounds complicated, and it is great being able to put my photos straight up. i am still getting used to finding everything though. But it's worth it!

Here is my latest photo from pole class. I ended up with a very impressive bruise on my hip too, but not from this move.

I think this move is called the "hot Aphrodite". So very appropriate for a goddess such as myself!

The boy has been up for the past few days, and has helped me enormously what with picking out all the electronic gadgets necessary to get me working wirelessly. So I would like to take this opportunity to give him a well deserved shout out. Thank you so much honey, I really appreciate it.

So the rest of this post will probably just be me raving about my Macbook. There is a wonderful program that comes with it called Photobooth. You can use the built-in webcam to take photos, and you can also distort them. So for your viewing pleasure, here are a few of the best.

Here's me at my very best!

Our exchange student Carl

Jade's mate Mitch

And the boy.

Spent most of today getting myself set up and acquainted with the Mac. In case you can't tell, I'm absolutely loving it!

Ok, moving on from the Macbook now (yes, it's hard, but I can manage!), the boy and I tried a new style of dancing. We went out Friday night to Merewether Golf Club. They held a class at 8, then the rest of the night for free dancing. Was loads of fun!

That's about all for now, love you all!

Whooo!

I am the proud owner of this new little (and I do mean little!) skirt.

It is the first item of clothing that I'd bought off Ebay, so I was a little bit worried about the size, but it's all good! Hooray!

Sorry, I do realise this is a totally random post. Love you all!

Power of the mind

Have been wondering about the power of the mind and of positive thought lately. Have decided to test it out in a very personal area of my life. Not sure how it's going to go. No, wait, scratch that, I AM SURE IT IS GOING TO WORK!!! That's much better.

More pole stuff

Had pole class again last night, and I managed to do a veeeery tricky move! It's called the teddy, and here it is!....

It's not the best angle, but I'm glad I even got the photo! (and yes, it hurts as much as you think it does!)

I'm also trying to upload a little something for your entertainment, but it's taking a while, so it will have to wait till next time. Love you all!

They're here!

Ok I am finally about to put up my photos! Not a virtual photo album as promised (didn't have that many good ones), but here's what I've got!

Ok this one is Kubu (the big one) with Diesel (the little one - duh!) He's a lot bigger now though!

This move is called the empress. That pink thingy hanging out of my pants is the towel I wipe my hands on (just in case you're wondering!)

This one is called the butterfly. It's actually not the best "butterfly" I have done, but I was having problems with slippage!

This one is called the bow and arrow, and again, not the best one I've done. I was really quite p!ssed about this as I'd had a makeup class on the Wednesday night and I was doing some really good moves. I decided to bring my camera to class the next day and I totally sucked! Oh well, I might take some more photos when I'm better at them!

Anyways, I'll get going now! Love you all!

Photos

I know I've been promising photos for a while now, but I can say with 99.999998576% accuracy that they will be coming soon. I've just uploaded them to my laptop, so all I have to do is get the flash drive and transfer them to this computer. And no I'm not being lazy by not doing it now. I am waiting because I will be taking my camera to pole class tonight, so I can have even more photos to upload. So be prepared for a virtual photo album!!

Hooray!!

None

Am still feeling very detached at the moment. It seems to be going around though- not sure if it's the weather or maybe the phase of the moon, but whatever it is, I hope it passes soon!

And from the "it never rains but it pours" file- I was getting really sick of not getting much work. I'm currently only working 3 nights a week. I have to admit, if I was living out of home and having to support myself, I would have given this up long ago. The only reason I've stayed is because I'm living at home, and I love teaching. But I thought enough is enough so yesterday I put in an application for an assistant manger position. I haven't heard back from them yet, but this morning my boss rang me to ask what my availability for the rest of the year was! So yeah, not-so-happy-Shann.

I have 2 pole classes this week since last week's class was cancelled, so hopefully I won't be too sore.

Am heading down to see the boy on the weekend, so a good time should be had by all.

Hoping to get my Macbook soon, as the struggle for survival (ie the struggle for internet time on the computer) has reached its peak.

Ok enough rambling. Love you all!

What the bleep is going on??

Things feel so weird at the moment. I usually have a pretty good outlook on life. I never used to but this "optimism streak" has been around for a while now. The problem is that I seem to have lost it and have no idea where to start looking for it. Things are the same, yet different. Life goes on as it always has, but something has subtly changed and I can't put my finger on the reason, or the cause, or even what it is that is different. All I know is that it is. If I knew what it was and why it was, I could fix it. As it is I just have to follow through until something points me in the right direction.

My brother has just informed me that my pole will be removed today. Yes, informed. Not requested, asked, discussed. Informed. I have been relegated to the small cell that is my room. The only space in the whole house that I have any control over. His photos on the walls, his stuff in the rumpus room, the rumpus room quickly becoming his domain, instead of communal area.

Sorry everyone, I don't mean to add the to gloom, just needed to vent. Here's hoping the happy bubble Shann returns soon!

False alarm

This post will probably confuse a lot of people! Some of you may have read on Jonathon's blog that we had broken up, and that was true at the time. We had a long chat last night though and we have decided to see if we can make it work. I had some really strange and new stuff going on in my life at the time, and it was probably a very rash decision on my part. It's true what they say... you don't know what you have until it's gone. Especially when all that's out there are inferior models.

All of the reasons I gave (as well as being quite confusing in the first place) don't seem to matter as much now. They all made sense at the time, but that was then.

I want to thank everyone who sent their love and support during this difficult time.

Love you all

Things on my mind today

I need to go to the osteo to get my neck done.

Freaking out about my ebay purchase. I transferred the money to the nominated account, but the seller doesn't seem able to find it!!! Will I have to fork out more money to get the items if the seller can't find my initial payment?

Is very hot. Trying to decide what to wear today that won't be so hot I'll melt, but will still cover hairy legs and armpits.

Hooray!! I finally finished mum's rug. Will post pictures

Am suddenly very aware that I have been promising pictures for quite a while now. Need to get a Macbook so I can load pictures straight from the computer without having to switch from my laptop (with almost completely useless internet connection) to desktop computer downstairs with broadband.

Can I really rort the system without getting caught??

Will I like the Macbook keyboard? Maybe I just need to play with them a bit more!!!

Baby Puppy is no longer a baby puppy!

Random Ramblings

Here are some (very disconnected!) thoughts in my head at the moment.

Why do I really need a Macbook?

Diesel The Weasel is now to be known as Diesel The Wee-sel (along the lines of the Pee-oodle. Must be related somehow!)

Learnt (well tried!) a few new moves at pole dancing the other night. One I'm kinda getting the hang of (some pic will be forthcoming) and 2 that will need a bit of work! have also decided that I need to practise more.

Am very sore from said pole dancing. New moves require new parts of the body to be tortured.

What's the go with Windows Vista?

Missing my sister

Am soon to start tutoring!

Lughnasa was great fun! (Chocolate cake was goooooood!)

Have almost finished mum's rug. Just need to tidy up the loose threads and do the edge. After that I will be finishing up some stars for the exchange students, then making a start on my tapestry.

Family gatherings (especially ours!) can be such a trial.

I love having a clean room but am totally incapable of keeping it that way!

Have to go to work today, but only for 2 parties, so not too bad. A, wondering if I need another job because at the moment am only getting around 9 hrs a week.

Why does underwear always go missing? (and socks?)
