It's craft time!

Well I have been well and truly bitten by the craft bug. I was almost finished on my crocheted rug, but I was getting a bit of rug-overload (I've done pretty much 3 rugs in a row) so I've decided o go back to my tapestry for a little bit. It's coming along nicely. Here are a few pics of my WIPs (Work In Progress)

This is my tapestry, and very typically Tesah I must say. I've actually done quite a bit of this, and I'm sorry you can't see the full thing but it's wrapped around the frame.

You can kinda see from this pic how far along I've got. (I'm only down to the water). I haven't done the main woman yet as she's going to be done in a different thread. I'll of course post pretty piccies once she's done.

This is the rug I'm working on
Ok enough piccies for the moment. I've been thinking of organising my own "Stitch and Bitch". A sort of meeting, maybe once a month where the various crafters can get together and work on their projects, have a cuppa, and a chat. I know there are a few RC regulars who like to craft (Marys Bee and Fairy, I'm looking at you girls!) and we all probly know a few people who do crafty things. So if you're interested let me know. This is really in the baby stages though (ie I only thought of it today!) so I'm just sussing things out at the moment. So if you're interested or you know someone who might be, drop me a line!

Correction!!

Sorry guys, I've only just now figured out what everyone is on about! I'm not sad as in upset, in my post I meant I was being sad as in tragic and spending too much time on the net!! Sorry, didn't mean to worry everyone!

Time for a new post

At least that's what the calender's telling me. Last post was Tuesday, so time for another post. Had first school for the term. Wasn't too bad- found the place alright. The kids weren't too bad. I only have 4 classes, but since I have to get up at about 6:30, it just seems like a long day. Even though I finish by 1:40.

Need to start looking for the next textbook for my Jap tutoring. Not sure where I'll be able to get it. Been looking on Ebay (that's where I got the last one), but no luck yet.

Have been very sad and looking up pretty cross stitch designs on the net. Really need to start getting into cross stitch, but need to finish assorted rugs first. (Not the living room one- that one's going to be a veeeery big project!!)

Had pole dancing last night and didn't fall on my head (score!). Have a new move to show:

Yes the camera is a little crooked, and I can't really rotate it to fix it, so this will have to do. Have decided I need to practice on my pole at home a lot more. First I need to put it up again. I took it down last weekend because I was reading on a forum that if you leave it up too long it makes it really hard to get down. There were all these horror stories about people who had left their's up for 3 months and it was "sooo hard to get apart", and mine had been up since Xmas! So I was really freaking out that I wouldn't be able to get it apart, but it came undone with no trouble. So I cleaned it and took care of other assorted maintainance, and now I just need to put it up again. Have also decided when I get a house, I want a really high ceiling so I can climb higher.

That's it from me! Love you all

Again with the random post

Have not been around much lately, mostly because I've been doing boring stuff, so have decided to go with the "random post" idea once again.

Loving the rain we've been having. Not just because it waters the garden, but because it creates the perfect conditions for staying in bed with a cuppa, a DVD and some craft.

Have so many craft projects planned or in the works. Am currently almost halfway through a rug for myself. Have decided that before I get back to my tapestry (and before the waether gets to warm for crocheting again) that I will be making a few gift rugs for various people.

Am also thinking about getting back into cross stitch, but this shall have to wait until after the rug making.

Am hoping to make myself a living room rug to go in my house when I get one. A few years ago I saw a beautiful design with Japanese symbols on it, but as you can imagine was also quite expensive. Am hoping that making my own version of said rug would be cheaper and more rewarding. Am also wondering if maybe I am setting my goals too high? Anyway, don't think tis project will be coming up anytime soon as I have nowhere to store said rug until I get said house.

Winter is definitely craft time for me. Not that I don't in the summer, but winter seems more conducive to sitting indoors doing nothing.

Have never been a strong sewing person (was going to try to say sew-er but without the hyphen might give the wrong idea!)

That's it for me. Love you all!

On my mind

Last day on holiday program at work
I love my Pandora bracelet- thank you honey!
The only reason I fell on my head was because my friend had said it, just before my class!
Lack of "me time" lately
Brother back from Japan soon
Carl moving to next host family on Sunday
One damn step in the quickstep that I have a huge mental blank with- I can be shown it as many times as they want, but it still goes in one ear and out the other!
Missed Rose Cottage this week- very rare
Gotta go photocopy notes for tutoring tomorrow
My ISP is giving me the sh!ts
Starbucks is very evil- also very tasty
Driving in Sydney not so fun

Pole dancing is a headache!

At least, it was tonight! I had a bit of a shocker- first of all I clicked my hip. Then I fell on my head! I've had ice on it, but I'm getting a bit of a headache. Will be alright- not too bad considering how long I've been doing pole dancing! Anyway, I'm gonna go now, take a Panadol. Love you all!

What's what

Lots of photos in this post- just warning you! Went to Royal Easter Show on Sunday and bought this: What is it you ask?

It's a handbag!!! Made all out of a huge zip!!

How cool is that??

Anyway, had loads of fun at the show. Bought an angel like Jonathon's, but a little bigger.Have to admit I was rather disappointed in the rides- not really very many there!

Here we are sitting on the floor of the train on the way home.

Wasn't for very long though. Just to Hornsby.

Pretty sunset taken out the window of the train:

The boy graduated on Tuesday. Am very proud of him. Had a wonderful day. Will let him tell you all about it though. Had a wonderful lunch at a Japanese restaurant. Only got slightly lost on the way home- didn't mean to get on the M2!

Anyway, some speccy graduation photos:

Anyway, am very tired little Vegemite, so I am going to bed. Goodnight!

New Stuff

Haven't been up to much lately, just working, been getting lots of shifts, so I'm really happy about it. Have got my roster for next term and have got more shifts than last term so that will be good. I will have a huge day on Tuesdays, with 5.25 hrs of Gymskools, then backing up at the gym for 3 hrs of afternoon classes. It will be tough, but I really didn't want to give up my Tuesday afternoon classes.

Will be heading down to the Royal Easter Show on Sunday (I think), so that should be good.

Have new photos from pole class. The first one is the double venus I did with my teacher.

And this one is the split leg butterfly.

This is different to the usual butterfly coz I don't have my ankle hooked onto the pole.

Anyway, that's it from me for now. Love you all!

Greetings from the Southern Highlands

Well it is rather cold down here, and I am loving it. I think some people usually prefer cold or warm weather, but I like both, for different reasons. In the summer, you can feel the warm sun on your face, get to go to the beach, and you have great weather all around for outside stuff. But in the winter, it seems to be more contemplative. It's great weather for reading, cups of tea, and crocheting, three of my favourite things. You get to snuggle under squishy doonas (well you do if you're in the Southern Highlands for the weekend- note the recurring personal obsession!).

Today Jonathon and I took a trip into Bowral. I love Bowral. It has that old town kinda charm. We had some great coffee, and then went and had a look at a store down here that sells Pandora jewellery. Clicky here. Pandora jewellery is basically a new way of doing charm bracelets, and they are absolutely gogeous. Anyway, Jono had been wanting to get me one for a birthday or Christmas present but we weren't sure what size bracelet I'd need (I have very tiny wrists!). So we went in for me to have a look and to try on a bracelet for size. Anyway, the lady at the shop found a bracelet that would be about my size and told me to just pick out a few charms to put on it so I could see how it would fit. Jonathon chose a charm from the few I had picked, and bought it for me right there and then, along with the bracelet. It's absolutely beautiful, so I'll have to show it off next time I'm around. And now he can buy me charms for Christmas and birthday and stuff. I think I forgot to mention the charm I got- it's a fish- we can't decide if it's a gold fish or a koi (carp), but either way, it doesn't really matter. I called the fish "Sakana", which is Japanese for "fish". Very original.

Pole class last night was good. We've been tinkering with our routine a bit coz we learnt a new move last night, called the "cresent moon". I should have taken a photo but I didn't bother coz I only had a 16MB memory card, which actually could have fit quite a few photos, but I was just being lazy

So that is what I have been up to for the past 2 days or so. Am very much enjoying my time down here, as always.

On my mind

  • Pole dancing tonight, but no video as my brother has borrowed my 1GB memory card. So unless you want a 6 second video...
  • Said brother is in Korea at the moment, hence why my lack of memory card. Wonder what he's up to. Hope he doesn't get shot. (He's going to the demilitarised zone)
  • Will shortly be storming
  • Going to the boy's place for easter
  • Wondering how to help a friend in need. Am one of those people who feel the need to fix things, even things that are none of my business. Especially if it's friend who is hurting
  • Am trying to make up a new music CD to play at gym, but a lot of the music I have at the moment is the explicit version. So I need to go looking for the clean version
  • I have "frogger" on my dashboard. But I still suck at it coz the last time I played Frogger was with a joystick
  • Am learning how to play checkers
  • My diet needs an overhaul
  • Wondering why every time I press the "shift" key the Garfield comic ticks over
  • Dirty Dancing is one of my all time fave movies. Along with a lot of other dance movies
  • My favourite dance is the jive
  • My download speeds are still really slow. Broadband my butt!

The weekend

The weekend is almost over. What have I been up to? Stuff that makes me very sore! We had a party at my place last night for our exchange student's birthday. And as soon as I had a few drinks I had to get on the pole and be a show off. So today I am very sore. I have 2 very impressive bruises; one on my arm, and another on my leg. I also have a rather sore arm. That'll teach me to try pole dancing without warming up! I was one of the more sober people last night, so I spent a lot of my time checking on the others. (I didn't mind- no way was I going to get that drunk anyway!). My host brother was in a pretty bad state, along with a few others, but there was minimal mess to clean up this morning, so that was good. So all in all, a good night was had by all.

Anyway, as promised, here is my latest video, which is a bit of a shocker, but you already knew that. I'll do another video when we get the routine sorted, but in the meantime, comment and snorff to your heart's content.

Clicky here.

Love you all
